DESCRIPTION:

The National Parade of Heroes - A Monumental Salute to the Veterans honors those who bravely served our country during the past century of our nation's history.  A special ceremony takes place in honor of all our war veterans, including WWII, The Korean War, The Vietnam War, The Gulf War, and the War on Terror.

This historic event will feature veteran speakers as well as choirs and bands from across the country as part of the ceremony.  Each ensemble will have the opportunity to perform songs of our American heritage.  Following a processional between war memorials, a mass band and mass choir performance will conclude the event.

ITINERARY:

November 11, 2021 - Arrival: Upon arrival into in Washington, D.C. you will meet your tour manager as you check into your first class hotel in the heart of our nation's capital.  You will have an afternoon for optional sightseeing at your leisure, such as Ford’s Theater, the National Zoo, or possibly schedule a tour of the Holocaust Memorial Museum. This evening we will have a group dinner at the hotel, and prepare for the next few days in Washington, DC.

November 12, 2021 - Washington, DC: Following your breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our day in DC with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery.  We will there board the tram and witness the Changing of the Guard, and also visit the Kennedy Grave sites, Space Shuttle Challenger Memorial, Arlington House and the Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima Memorial).  Following our visit to Arlington, we will make our way into the National Mall area where you will have time to explore the museums of the Smithsonian Institute, including the American History, Natural History, African American History and Culture, and the Air and Space Museum.  We will then get dinner (provided), followed by an evening guided tour of DC's monuments and memorials, including: Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, WWII Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, and a photo stop at the White House. Overnight in DC.

November 13, 2021 - Washington, DC: Parade of Heroes: We will begin our day with a breakfast provided at your hotel, followed by a departure for downtown Washington, D.C. where you will participate in the National Parade of Heroes – Veterans Commemoration, featuring a ceremony and performances at the Lincoln Memorial, followed by a processional to the WWII Memorial, and a Mass Band and Choir performance of God Bless America and America the Beautiful. Following the event, you will have some time to grab a bite to eat and then it's on to a visit to the US Capitol Building.  We will then make a stop at the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court Building. We will the go back to the hotel to freshen up for your final evening in DC where we will embark on a dinner cruise on the Potomac River.

November 14, 2021 - Washington, DC/Departure: Following breakfast at the hotel, we will leave our luggage at the hotel and make one last excursion.  We will head to Mount Vernon, home of George and Martha Washington. Following the visit to this beautiful plantation, we will return to the hotel and gather up our luggage for departure.  We will say our "good-byes" as we reflect on the wonderful experience of our Historic Journey to Washington, DC as part of the National Parade of Heroes

For this tour, you will need to plan on arriving into Washington, DC before 2:00 pm on Day 1, and will need to be able to depart after 4:00 pm on Day 4
