DESCRIPTION:

The history and culture of Hawaii provide an experience unlike any other.  From the beautiful sands of Waikiki Beach and the shores of Pearl Harbor, to the majesty of its tropical mountains and Polynesian traditions, a Historic Journey to Hawaii will provide memories that will will be cherished for a lifetime.

ITINERARY:

December 4, 2021 - Waikiki: Arrive at Honolulu International Airport where you will meet your Historic Journey's tour directors. We will transfer to Waikiki for check in at your four start, beachfront hotel.  We will meet for a sunset dinner at the iconic Duke's Canoe Club, but after that, the time is yours to enjoy the evening on Kalakaua Avenue on Waikiki Beach at your leisure. Overnight in Waikiki.

December 5, 2021 - Pearl Harbor/Arizona Memorial: Breakfast will be provided at your hotel, followed by a visit to Pearl Harbor.  Upon arrival at Pearl Harbor, you will have an opportunity to visit the Arizona Visitor's Center and learn the history of the attack on these same shores in 1941.  You will then watch a brief film as you prepare to take the Navy provided launch to the USS Arizona Memorial.  Following your return to the visitor's center, you will then be transported to the USS Missouri Battleship and museum.  This visit will complete your excursion to Pearl Harbor - the USS Arizona Visitor's Center represents the beginning of WWII for the US, whereas the Missouri, and its "Surrender Deck" represent the end of WWII.  Following our visit to Pearl Harbor, we will return to Waikiki for the evening.  Dinner will be on your own this evening to be able to enjoy Waikiki at your leisure.  Overnight in Waikiki.

December 6, 2021 - Island Tour: Following your breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our circle island tour of Oahu.  You will have the opportunity to visit many cultural and iconic spots on the island including the Pali Lookout, Hanauma Bay Overlook, Halona Blow Hole, Makapuu Lighthouse.  We will be sure to stop at Kualoa Ranch for lunch, where Hawaii's rich movie history is alive and well. We will continue our tour as we make our way to the famous North Shore and see Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay, Hale-iwa, and the Dole Plantation.  We will then make our way back to Waikiki where we will have an opportunity to freshen up for dinner.  This night, we will enjoy a dinner cruise of the shores of Waikiki.  Overnight in Waikiki.

December 7, 2021 - 80th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor: We will begin our day with a breakfast provided at your hotel.  This day is all yours to explore the island however you see fit.  We can assist with excursions including a snorkel trip to Hanauma Bay, Horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch, catamaran ride in Waikiki, and evening Luau or even a helicopter ride.  However, if a relaxing beach day is more your style, you can simply enjoy the world renowned beaches of Waikiki.  Evening to enjoy the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade down Kalakaua Avenue.  Seating provide at the review stand near the International Marketplace.  Dinner will be on your own this evening.  Overnight in Waikiki.

December 8, 2021 - Polynesian Cultural Center: Following breakfast you will have a little time this morning to relax before we head to the other side of the Island.  We will head to the Polynesian Cultural Center to enjoy the day experiencing the rich culture of the Polynesian people.  The islands of Hawaii, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand, and Tahiti are represented in dance, song and lifestyle.  Be sure to catch the Pageant of the Long Canoes.  A first-rate dinner will be provided in the Ambassador dining hall. Following dinner we will be treated to the spectacular evening show, HA: The Breath of Life.  After the show, we will make the journey back to Waikiki for your final night on the island.

December 9, 2021 - Waikiki/Departure: Following breakfast at the hotel, we will leave our luggage at the hotel.  We will have a little time for last minute shopping and sightseeing before we will return to the hotel and gather up our luggage for departure.  We will say our "good-byes" as we reflect on the wonderful experience of our Historic Journey to Hawaii.

*Taxes and gratuities are included for hotels and meals.  However gratuities for your bus drivers, tour managers and local guides are not included.  It is customary to tip $1-2 per person, per day for your tour managers, and the same for your bus driver.

Important Note:

For this tour, you will need to plan on arriving into Honolulu before 5:00 pm on Day 1, however will be able to depart any time on Day 6.
