DESCRIPTION:

New York City and Boston are two of America's most historic cities. From the settling of Plymouth Rock to the Boston Tea Party and the Revolutionary War Period and beyond, America was forged in ...

ITINERARY:

DAY 1 - Boston: Arrive at Boston Logan Airport where you will meet your Historic Journey's tour directors. We will immediately transfer to Lexington and Concord for a visit these historic locations where the first battles of the American Revolutionary War were fought.  Transfer to your hotel for check in and orientation. Dinner will be provided this evening, followed by a visit to Harvard Square.  Overnight in Boston

DAY 2 - Boston: Breakfast will be provided at your hotel, followed by a full day of touring in Boston.  We explore the Freedom Trail, including the historic sites of the Old North Church, Old State House, Boston Massacre Site, Faneuil Hall, Boston Common, Boston Tea Party Site, Paul Revere's House and much more. During the tour, we will be sure to stop for lunch (on own) at Quincy Market where you will have a chance to shop and dine in this historic marketplace, where modern shops meet colonial architecture.  This evening we will take you back to the hotel to freshen up, followed by dinner (provided) near the Prudential Center. Following dinner, we will enjoy a visit to the Prudential Center Observatory for a beautiful view of Boston at night.  Overnight in Boston.

DAY 3 - Salem/Plymouth/New York: Following your breakfast at the hotel, we will begin our journey to New York.  But before we head south, we will make a stop in the historic town of Salem, Massachusetts, site of the infamous Salem Witch Trials.  Following a tour of the museum, we will make our way to Plymouth where we will visit Plimoth Plantation, Plymouth Rock, and the Mayflower II (replica of the original Mayflower).  We will then grab a quick bite to eat (on own), then head for New York.  We will arrive into New York in the early evening and get checked in at your Times Square area, four star hotel. Dinner will be in Times Square (provided) this night.  To wrap up the day, you will have some free time to explore Times Square at night.

DAY 4 - New York: We will begin our day with a breakfast provided at your hotel, followed by a tour New York.  We will have a local guide step on our bus and take us to the many historic sites of New York, including Central Park, 5th Avenue, St. Paul's Cathedral, Harold Square (Macy's), Chinatown, Little Italy, Wall Street, and more.  We will end our tour at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum where you will have time to explore this amazing, yet sobering reminder of the tragic events of September 11, 2001.  Following our visit to the museum, we will take you back to the hotel to freshen up for dinner and an evening on Broadway. Dinner will be provided in the Theater District.  Your final evening in New York will be spent enjoying a Broadway Musical, such as Lion King or Wicked.  Overnight in New York

Day 5 - New York/Departure: Following breakfast at the hotel, we will leave our luggage at the hotel and make one last excursion.  We will head to Battery park, where we will catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Following the visit to these iconic historical sites, we will return to the hotel and gather up our luggage for departure.  We will say our "good-byes" as we reflect on the wonderful experience of our Historic Journey to Boston and New York!

*Taxes and gratuities are included for hotels and meals.  However gratuities for your bus drivers, tour managers and local guides are not included.  It is customary to tip $1-2 per person, per day for your tour managers, and the same for your bus driver.  

 

Important Note:

For this tour, you will need to plan on arriving into Boston before 2:00 pm on Day 1, and will need to be able to depart after 4:00 pm on Day 5
